Minutes of January 17, 2011 Meeting
Attendees:
Spec Bower, chairman, Charlie Smith, Ken Meyer, Shane Hastings
The meeting was called to order by the chairman at 3:10.
Actions taken:
1. The committee unanimously approved of and accepted the reappointment of Shane Hastings to the BAC.
2. The Town’s warrant articles #9 through #26 were discussed and it was agreed to recommend approval of all except #26 on which the BAC decided not to take any position. It was further agreed that the chairman would speak at the deliberative session in support of warrant article #9 and would explain the reasons for not offering an opinion with respect to #26.
3. The Sunapee School District’s warrant articles #3 hrough #5 were then discussed and in view of the SAU’s assurance that sufficient funds would be available if article #4 was approved to fully complete the Blodgett House, the majority of the BAC agreed to recommend approval of all of the above numbered warrant articles. There was one dissenting vote withrespect to article #4.
4. It was the unanimous opinion of the BAC that respect to Capital Reserve funds it would be helpful if more information was provided including the amount currently in that fund and some
justification for requiring the increase.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:30.
